To me, the main problem with this 'plan' is the staged withdrawal. 'staged' is israli BS for indefinite occupation, then they weasel their way into annexing/settling the territory a few years later. look no further than the west bank, syria, lebanon. or the last gaza ceasefire.

So the captives are released immediately then there's nothing to compel them to complete the withdrawal.

They have no choice but to take this plan because the world and its leaders have failed the Palestinian people. Perhaps none more so than those Arab states. They never truly wanted to defend Gaza, and sat quietly while genocide happened. These 2 genociders in chief knew exactly what they were doing. DT would even be the leader of Tony Blair. He would have veto power to get rid of anything he doesn't like policy wise. The peace board is in charge until Palestine can make reforms. Imagine being a country that has only wanted a country to call their own and then being nearly annihilated for wanting sovereignty and then the country that committed genocide, comes in and says to you that you need to "REFORM YOUR GOVERNMENT!" And until then you will not be a sovereign state, your sovereignty is up to the people responsible for your genocide. What do you think the chances are of a sovereign nation for Palestine?! Prob slim to none given Israel is trying to expand into other territories.

Never understood the pro Palestine side and their reluctance to hold Hamas accountable. Do you think any American wants their tax dollars spent to rebuild Gaza if it has to get filtered through a terrorist group? The deal does not lead to any concrete steps toward statehood. It was not drafted with any input from Palestinians. It does nothing to address settlement expansion and settler violence in the West Bank. As it is now It would give major Zionist influences control over Gaza. Mass protests abroad are not happening for one simple reason, most people outside do not trust that the Trump plan is genuine peace. To them it looks like terms drafted in Washington and Tel Aviv, not in consultation with Palestinians. When you start from an imposed framework you do not get a peace movement, you get suspicion.

The same dynamic played out with Oslo and later with economic peace proposals. Palestinians on the ground and their supporters abroad saw settlements expand even while peace talks were on. That history teaches them that what is branded as peace often locks in the status quo.

So it is not that the world is cheering for Hamas. It is that people who care about Palestinian rights do not want to march in support of a deal they see as one sided. Protest movements tend to mobilise against power they view as unjust, not in favour of plans they see as theatre.

If the deal were built with genuine inclusion and guarantees for a real Palestinian future you would see protests demanding Hamas take it. As it stands people do not see it as peace, just a pause dressed up as progress.

Protests work in mobilising public opinion about recognised states (such as Israel) in order to pressure their own governments.

Is there an example of a mass protest in American history to encourage a battered and bombed and starved group to accept the unfavorable terms of a capitulation?  Look, I think Hamas should accept the terms because Israel is already committing genocide, the world hasn’t done enough to stop Israel and Israel shows no signs of wanting to stop. Without a serious plan for a state it is a ceasefire not a long term peace.

Still it certainly beats whatever Israel would have done on their own, the PA are more than justified in seeing this as a chance to halt genocide.

Biggest short term concern is the idea of putting Trump and Blair in charge. Aside from just being gross in principle, it gives Hamas a reason to reject on the grounds of colonialism. It needs to be a joint effort between the PA and the Arab states.
